It’s already week 6 of this Fall One Room Challenge and it’s time to reveal my space! For this round I went with a rather big project; our dining and living room. When we moved into our home 3 years ago we removed all the cosmetic stuff; floors, counters, baths, etc… So our dining and living room has been sitting empty until now. It’s a pretty big space so I’ve been putting it off till I was ready to focus solely on the room. Well after 6 weeks it’s complete………….well, the living room portion is complete!
My dining room portion is 50% done, and the only reason it’s not 100% is because I’m still waiting on my table and hutch to be delivered. Unfortunately it took longer than planned to arrive so I’ll have to share the space with you next week.
For now, here’s a quick update on the room and where I started 6 weeks ago.
The room is large and it’s a joint room where the living portion opens up to the dining room. As I mentioned in week 1 we had almost zero furniture for the space so my biggest task was planning the space and finding the right pieces. My theme has been a Modern Rustic style where I have incorporated a little farmhouse with a little modern. Here’s the inspiration again in case you missed it.
Now for the best part, the after pictures! If you want to know where everything came from then you can find all the source’s below.
As you can see, I installed all the base molding (finally!), added a board & batten feature wall, installed new white curtains, replaced all the lighting including new chandeliers, and my favorite installed a barn door.
My dining table and hutch should be delivered any day now, once I get that I’ll share the rest of my dining room reveal. To help with a visual below are the pieces. Both are reclaimed wood and I’m SOOO excited to finally get these in place! I know the extra wait will be worth it.
I’m obsessed with that hutch and I can’t wait to style it. Plus to finally have a dining room table in this room will be pretty amazing! Now, back to the rest of my living room reveal. We’re only half way done!!!
Well, there you have it. I know the entire space isn’t complete, but I’m so proud of what is finished. It’s such a nice thing to finally walk into our home and see a finished space instead of a open empty room.
If you missed any of the previous weeks here’s a recap:
