DIY: Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter Pumpkins

Vintage Glass Glitter is my new favorite thing. Even more so, Aqua Vintage Glass Glitter is that much better. But finding premade decor in aqua is not so easy. I love the look of the silver, but of course I always prefer to have items match my existing home decor style, and that means aqua or teal.

So since I couldn’t find exactly what I was looking for I decided to make my own DIY Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter Pumpkins.

These Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter Pumpkins are so easy to make. Plus, they’re perfect for a more neutral fall decor display. I especially love that they sit and match the rest of my decor.

So want to know how to make them? Well, before you start you’ll first want to make your own Vintage Glass Glitter, which you can see exactly how to do that here.

Of course if you don’t want to make aqua, you can always choose a different glass bulb color to make the Vintage Glass Glitter.

Here’s How to Make Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter Pumpkins!

After you have your Vintage Glass prepped here’s what you’ll need to make Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter Pumpkins.

Materials Needed:

  • Vintage Glass Glitter, see how to make your own here.
  • Faux Pumpkins
  • Glue or Mod Podge
  • Paintbrush
  • White/Creme Paint (optional)

Step 1 // Start by applying glue or mod podge to a pumpkin. You can you use clear or white since they both dry clear. I held the pumpkin by the stem and made sure the entire pumpkin had glue covering it with a paint brush.

Step 2 // Next, start sprinkling the Vintage Aqua Glass all over the pumpkin.

Step 3 // Allow the pumpkin to completely dry before using.

I found that with the Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter it was best to have a lighter color pumpkin. So I suggest painting orange or dark colored pumpkins a white or creme before adding the glass glitter.

Here’s my after.

Aren’t these the cutest? Making these Vintage Aqua Glass Glitter Pumpkins was so easy, and I’m pretty obsessed with the outcome!

Enjoy!

These are gorgeous!!! I’m a teal girl too. I am always looking for fun DIY coastal design ideas. Thank you for sharing this DIY! Were the ornaments that you bought labeled as shatterproof?

No. You need the ones that say “non-shatterproof”

Just love your pumpkins and art. Would love to do similar in art but concerned about bits of glass falling off my art into the floor. How can I make sure this doesn’t happen!

Do you seal these after applying the “glitter” to retain all the pieces?

I really am disappointed in the lack of response from the creator to everyone’s questions about this glitter. I wish she would respond by stating how to handle these when finished. I would guess they’d be very sharp to touch and I’ d worry about the glass/glitter falling off and then stepping on the chards somewhere! OUCH!
