I’ve been wanting to build a outdoor rustic farmhouse table for some time now. I honestly was a little scared and thought it would be too difficult. I fell in love with Shanty 2 Chic’s “Fancy X Farmhouse Table” on Ana White’s website forever ago.
Well I recently got the courage to attempt this build. It ended up taking me a couple hours to build and then I finished it a separate day.
The entire table cost less than $100 to make and it looks like it could have cost over $1000. Make sure to visit Ana White’s website to download the plans.

After I built the table I patched any holes with wood Filler and then sanded the entire thing. This was the worst step to me since I spent a couple hours making sure to sand everything nice and smooth so my daughter won’t get any splinters.
I used my favorite stain, Minwax in Dark Walnut. I also highly suggest to use these foam brushes to get in between the boards.
Here’s the finished table.
I still need to add a coat of poly to protect it since it will be a outside table.
