I’m not gonna lie I dread dishes! It’s the last thing I want to do after making dinner. I’ve come to realize a couple of things that work best for me, like doing them the next morning. But if you’re like me and need to always be organized and clean then you’ll appreciate these 5 tips that have helped me make dish washing easier.
5 Tips to Make Dish Washing Easier!
Doing dishes can be such a time consuming task, especially if you let them pile up for a couple of days. Of course my goal is to always have them done at least once a day, but the main goal is to be done as quickly as possible so I can get back to the important things, like family. So, here are my tips that I find most useful when it comes to dishes:
1. Sort Out the Dishes Before you Start
This may sound silly, but I try to remove everything from my sink. I end up setting aside all the items that typically get washed by hand. For example, I’ll set aside pots, pans, bottles, and cooking utensils. Then, I’ll try to organize as much as possible before, like all the cups together or stacking the plates.
2. Pick the right soap
Next, I’ll start filling up the left side of my sink with warm water and either the new Dawn Ultra soap or Dawn Total Clean, Lemon Twist. Both are available in bulk at your local Sam’s Club.
Picking the right soap is so important. Not only is my goal is to be done with dishes as fast as I can, but I also want to spend less time scrubbing. With Dawn Ultra you spend 50% less scrubbing vs non-Ultra Dawn. Plus, as you probably have heard, A drop of Dawn and the grease is gone!
3. Wash and fill up the dishwasher first
I then start washing the items that go in the dishwasher first. Since everything is sorted out, I’ll wash 1 item at a time. For example, all the cups at the same time then the plates, utensils, etc… This helps with making the most of your dishwasher space.
4. Rinse Dishes at One Time
I have a 2 sided sink, so the left side is for cleaning and the right is for rinsing. If you have a large open sink, I suggest getting a bucket/bin. But, after I wash I place the dish to the other side, then once everything is washed I’ll quickly rinse. This helps with saving water and being more efficient.
5. Wash pots and pans last
Finally, I’ll wash all the pots and pans and other items by hand last. I like to save these for last since these typically are the dirtiest, that way I only have to fill the sink up once.
So, if you want to get done faster and get back to the things that matter, then definitely test out my tips.
One of the best parts of Dawn is that it’s available at Sam’s Club. I love purchasing things in bulk so I love Sam’s Club. While you’re there, check out their club pickup option! Dawn Ultra comes in an extra-large 90 oz. bottle, which is equal to 11 refill bottles. If you prefer to purchase smaller bottles, you can also check out Dawn Total Clean, Lemon twist, this one comes in a pack of three! I love the scent of this flavor!
Happy dish washing, and remember one drop of this concentrate contains three times the power of the leading bargain brand. Plus, the powerful formulation makes it possible to use even less Dawn liquid soap than ever before!
Enjoy!
