Football season has started! Are you as excited as I am? Every year I look for new recipes to make for each Sunday game. This year I decided to spin a new take on one of my favorite snacks, Caramel Corn. Caramel Corn is seriously one of the most addicting snacks. Every time I make it I can’t stop eating it, this time was also no exception since I mixed in one of my favorite candies; Skittles®!
So, for this past Sunday Football game I made some Skittles® Caramel Corn with peanuts and pretzels. Here’s how to make it.
To get started add Brown Sugar, Butter, Salt, and Corn syrup to a pot. Bring it to a boil and continue boiling for 4 minutes. Then make 2 bags of popcorn. You can also pop your own popcorn from kernels, but the ready made bags are so much faster. Once the 4 minutes is up, pour the entire mixture over the popcorn. Stir together so it’s evenly coated.
Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and dump the popcorn on it. Sprinkle a little more salt on it and bake for 30 minutes turning half way through at 300*.
Once your done baking let it cool and then break it into little pieces.
Now for the yummy toppings. You can add so many things to the caramel popcorn but my favorite items are peanuts, pretzels, and Skittles®! I like to get all the ingredients out and mix a large batch for everyone at one time.
Just add a couple cups of the caramel popcorn to a bowl then stir in a spoon of peanuts, pretzels, and Skittles®.
That’s it, your Skittles® Caramel Corn is ready to be served! It’s the perfect mix of sweet and salty.
Your guests will love snacking on this Skittles® Caramel Corn while watching your favorite team. If your looking for more fun with Skittles® try “Let’s Break the Ice” game. Get your FREE printable below then add some skittles to a bag and your ready to play.
Here’s how to play: while watching football; at each commercial take a piece of candy out of the bag then match the color to the card and reveal that info to the group. It’s sure to break the ice.

I’ve added M&Ms to pop corn mixes before but I’ve never tried skittles. I think it will bring out the sweetness of the caramel more. This is definitely worth trying!
