Things are pretty busy in my household and I’ve been going back and forth on whether or not I would participate in the Spring 2018 One Room Challenge, but I finally decided I’m in! I know it’s already 3 weeks in, but I’m up for the challenge.
For this round I plan on completing my Master Bedroom. It shouldn’t require too much work besides decor & new furniture, so if anything it will cost more than the time I spend on projects.
Before
Here are the before pics, all from when we first bought our home.
The space is pretty large and fits a king bed with ton’s of space to spare, so we need large scale furniture. So far we have kept the window treatments/blinds and the floor, and if you’re wondering what’s going on with the floor your not the only one!!! We can’t figure out if the shade difference is from sun damage or if they added an extra sealer around the furniture. I’m thinking it’s the latter option since we have these marks in several rooms where it’s not possible for sun damage to take place. Either way we tried to fix it when we moved in with no luck, fortunately we have furniture covering it. Otherwise, the space already got a new paint color when we first moved in.
To-Do’s
Here’s what I’m hoping to-do:
- New bedding
- New rug
- Install curtains
- New furniture
- Possibly add a sitting area with a new chair
- Lots of new decor and art
The walls have already been painted in Oatlands Subtle Taupe from Valspar so the room will require more buying stuff than projects. Hopefully I get everything ordered and shipped in time.
Inspiration
For my theme I’m going with a “Rustic Chic” look. It will be a mix of rustic furniture with clean chic decor & details plus it will have a little coastal touch. My color palette will be lots of white, natural and grey wash wood, and a little indigo blue.
Here’s my inspiration!
