My succulent planter was looking pretty sad these days. It was time for me to refresh and add some new plants. As you can see a couple had died, especially the types that had any color.
I bought 4 new plants at Lowes and added them to the planter.
It already looks so much better with new plants.
But I wanted them to look more purple/blue like this image I found on Pinterest.
But when you look up this image you’ll find a bunch of Fake images/blogs saying you can change the color of succulents with food coloring. This is not true! In order to get this look you need to paint the succulents. I decided to give it a try to a couple of them.
I used Spray paint in purple & aqua. I did a really light coating. I’m not sure if the paint will kill the plants so I’ll update if I ever have any problems.
So much better don’t you think!

So, how did the plants do after being painted?
The paint had no effect on them, but of course I can’t seem to keep succulents alive so they all died about a couple of months later.
