Week 5 of the One Room Challenge is here, and I’m so excited with my progress!
I started off my weekend with this…
The move was actually pretty painless! We borrowed my dad’s rolling dolly and then also used my husbands skateboard to wheel it into our house. Getting it through the front door was the only tricky part, but it made it through with 1″ to spare!
Here it is moved in our office.
You can see some damage to the front, but I still had to add another coat of paint so it was no big deal. But I’m happy to say the desk is done! Minus the hardware….so 98% done! My big decision was to leave it centered in the room or push it against the wall. I love the look of it in the middle of the room, it just takes up so much space. Plus, where will all my computer cords run?!?!? You’ll have to see next week…
I also finished my Terrarium light fixture and I’m soo in love with it! I’ll show the full tutorial later. But if you remember it started off as just a glass geo terrarium meant for a table and a jute rope cord.
Another project I finished was some rustic shelves. These are ikea brackets but I added my own wood shelf so I could stain it myself.
I also finished this geo wine rack turned interesting cubby shelf. I originally wanted to hang it on the wall but then decided it might stick out too much. I’m still working on how to accessorize it.
Finally, I finished my new DIY curtain rod.
I’m loving the white against the white shiplap wall. I originally wanted to use grey curtains, but I think the white brightens the room up more.
My last and final week to finish this room is going to be busy. I need to finish up art projects, bring in some bookshelves I was using before, and then add the final decor. When I look at the room is doesn’t seem like much but I know the little details typically take me forever.

Loving everything! My husband was bringing in part of our desk the other day and managed to take off a huge chunk of paint. Luckily that side is against the wall, so it will be staying that way. NO TIME TO FIX IT! Can’t wait to see your big reveal! It’s going to be good, I just know it!

Thanks so much! You got lucky, I definitely had to fix the paint since it was on the front! Oh well!
