I recently had a consultation with their designer Jessica. She discussed The KonMari Method by Marie Kondo. She also discussed what to expect when re-designing your closet with California Closets’ professional design consultants.

She explained the process as follows: you’ll first get an in home consultation where they’ll discuss the project, budget, inspiration, timing, and most importantly what you want out of it. Next, they’ll take measurements and take detailed note’s of your space. Then, they’ll use the California Closets app where they can share examples of similar spaces and possible accessory and design enhancements you might be interested in.

Then, they’ll come back or you can visit a showroom to review a preliminary design and cost. It’s best to visit a showroom so you can see in person the product line so you know what quality and workmanship you’ll be getting. Finally, the final designs will be presented with costs and you’ll get 3D images of the space. From there you decide how you want to proceed.

For my space I asked Jessica what she suggests to best utilize my Nursery closet. She recommended adding more shelving allowing me more space to fold clothes. The KonMari Method is all about folding clothes and learning what spark’s joy from your clothes.

She also suggested to incorporate boxes, bins, or baskets. Then when it comes to hanging, make sure everything is color coordinated from dark to light.
