Another update to my daughters nursery…this time its a easy DIY project. I wanted a basic ledge shelf that also had hooks to hang things from. Of course I had to make it! I went to my scrap pile of wood and found a couple of pieces that would work.
I pulled a 3 1/2″ wide piece and then cut it down to size, which was around 20″ long.
I cut to 2 pieces, 1 for the top and 1 for the hooks. I then used my nail gun to attach the 2 pieces together like so.
Here’s another angle of how they are attached.
Next I sanded it down, making sure all the edges were slightly round. I also drilled holes into the piece that would be attached to the wall, sorry no pics here. Then I drilled holes evenly spaced across the shelf for the knobs.
Finally it was time to paint, I used the same grey as my dresser. You can see more details about that here.

After the paint dried I added all the knobs. Then it was ready to hang on the wall; and since I already pre-drilled the holes all I had to do was screw it to the wall. I used wood filler to fill the holes and touched it up with the grey paint. That way you don’t notice it.
Here’s a sneak peak of the finished product.
Check back next week for the rest of the pics!
