Since re-doing our upstairs hall bath, we haven’t been able to find a extra long shower curtain that we liked. Honestly, the options are minimal to none unless you want the plastic white liner as your main curtain. I guess this isn’t mainstream enough for companies to make options. So, I had to get to making my own.
As you can see we took the tile and went all the way up to the ceiling, this makes the bathroom feel 10x bigger. But having a standard shower curtain defeats the whole purpose of the tile.
So I found a curtain that I liked from Target and bought 2 panels. I had to shop around for the shower curtain liner but luckily found some options at Bed Bath Beyond. I also purchased new hooks then used my existing rod since nothing was wrong with it.
I layed the curtain out figuring where to cut the holes for the hooks.
Since I had 12 hooks I split them between the 2 panels (6 and 6). I used pencils for my placeholder’s. Next, I cut small holes in the fabric.
Now to hang it up. First, put all the hooks on the curtain rod. Then add your liner as normal. Now place the curtain on as shown. And that’s it! So easy and affordable. It makes the possibilities endless!I love my new shower curtain! Now to finish the rest of the bathroom.
Enjoy!

Did you sew the two panels together or are they still separate? Looks great!
AShadeOfTeal says
Yes, I did sew them together.

Did you also sew the holes or hooks sewn so the fabric didn’t ravel?
Katy says
no, and they didn’t unravel.

Do you have any trouble with water on the curtain? Like mold or mildew or just general not drying and getting gross? I love this simple idea and want to use it in my own space!
Katy says
Hi Kathy! I haven’t had any issues.
