I bought this piece at a yard sale and it was missing the piece that should’ve been framed. I thought this would be perfect for a chalkboard since it had so much detail.
I made my own chalk paint using Valspar paint in “Ava’s Garden” from their pre-made sample collection. Then finished it with a light coat of poly. For the chalkboard I used a chalkboard spray paint, I think next time I’ll buy the chalkboard paint that you can roll on since with the spray paint I used almost the whole can for this project.
Enjoy!

What did you use for the chalkboard back, and how did you attach it to the frame? Really lovely color

Thanks! I used 1/4″ plywood from lowes and cut it to size, then I attached it with screws to the frame.
