Another D.I.Y. Crate

I liked the 1st crate so much I had to make another. This time I wanted a planter box for my front door.

I bought more strip wood from Lowe’s and made my cuts.

1. Front & back, (8) 2.5″ x 18″.
2. Bottom, (1) 7.25″ x 18″.
3. Sides, (2) 7.25″ x 11.5″.

I started building by attaching the side pieces to the bottom with nails.

Then I added one of the front/back pieces to the bottom of the crate as shown below on both sides of the crate.

 Next, I added a front/back piece to the top of the crate. I used an extra piece of wood to evenly space out the remainder front/back pieces.

I did this for both sides and it was complete.

For the finishing I used Minwax Stain in Dark Walnut.

I bought some flowers; added soil and moss and I was done!
