It’s week 4 of the One Room Challenge, but since I just started it’s my 2nd week and I didn’t waste anytime! I spent a lot of time shopping and ordering everything I need. Then I cleaned out the space as much as I could since we’re still living & sleeping in it, but here’s a reminder of how the space looked when we bought our home.

As I mentioned before we already painted the room a couple years ago. Then our bed was also purchased a couple years ago as well, so will be keeping that. Our current nightstands & dresser will be replaced, I love these pieces and actually refinished them for our last house but it doesn’t suit my style anymore.
I still can’t believe I let this room be unfinished for so long! All I ever did was buy a new bed, a rug, and then hang some quick art over the bed (which will be replaced).
Other than clearing out the space as much as I could I measured out the new furniture we plan to get. I’m hoping to purchase that this weekend, but will be ordering 2 dresser’s and 2 nightstands.
Finally, I ordered my bedding, pillows, and curtains rods. I already received a bunch so it’s really motivating me to finish the space and my curtains rods are all installed.
Here’s an updated list of what I need to-do:
- New bedding- Ordered
- New rug- Ordered
- Install curtains- Curtain rods are installed but I still need to purchase the curtains.
- New furniture
- Possibly add a sitting area with a new chair
- Lots of new decor and art
Finally, if you haven’t heard about the One Room Challenge its hosted by Calling It Home and the challenge goes on for 6 weeks where I’ll update you each week with the progress I’ve made. Make sure to check out the other linking participants HERE.
